Falling Into The Fire

It all actually started for me when I fell into the fire on Summer Solstice of 2019. It’s been a long 3 years. I don’t know about you but I was taken down to zero. I fought it. I was not going to go down. I’m tenacious, I’m stubborn. But over and over again I got the message to let go. To die the shamn's death. And finally I did. I’m sure this happened to many of you over the COVID time-out.
I literally fell into a ceremonial fire, landed with my left hand on a log of burning embers and was apparently engulfed in flames, briefly. I heard this voice say "This is an intitation." Then came the unraveling. And the reformatting. And the alchemy. You see, at the core of this was the call for me to heal from a lifetime of what I call freeze. It’s one of the three states we can go into when events are too big to face. We run. We fight. Or we freeze. My go-to was to freeze.

Creating New Paradigms By Aligning With The Soul

Are you wanting to change things up this year? Ready to make a big shift? Well, telling yourself you want to change is often not enough. Our immediate sense of self, and the world we live in, is created by living through our experiences, and then filtering them through the mind. We each live in a movie of our own making created out of our beliefs and coping mechanisms. We may try deleting scenes and hiring new actors, but we are still stuck living out themes and roles from our past. Until we can shift out of the old fear based paradigms that are hardwired into our brains we will continue to relive our past into our future. If we want to truly change, we must work at a level beyond the mind’s wish to do so. As Albert Einstein is often quoted as saying “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it."

Does It Really Have to Be A Drama?

Looking at DRAMA and how we create it instead of speak our truth, especially when speaking our truth makes us feel vulnerable. We act out instead. We withhold, we provoke, we defy... But as Newton noticed, every action creates an equal and opposite reaction.
The problem with drama is it involves other people. The more responsible thing to do is own your feelings, work through them, look at their origin, process them in your journal...do ceremony to release them...communicate that you are doing this... and then, if necessary, speak what needs to be said, not the words that make you come out on top, but your truth. Then let balance unfold as it is meant to be. True, speaking your truth is going to create an effect as well but it usually brings you back into balance rather than further away from it. Our truth is the true North on our moral compass. Please, let's use it!

Who Is Doing The Math Here?

Isn't it interesting that there are 52 weeks in a year and 365 days in a year and both these numbers are divisible by 13 (ok so there is a day left over in 365/13) but we choose a 12 month calendar year?! If we made our months 28 days, the cycle of the moon, we would have exactly 13 months... What is with this 12 months of varying day lengths calendar being the "solar" calendar?? What is so solar about it?! It just isn't Lunar...
