Are You A Sponge Or Are You A Maserati?
So you are a Sensitive, you pick up on everything in your environment, from people’s emotions and the collective consciousness, to solar flares.... But does this mean you are inherently a sponge? Many people who are sensitive to the energetic world fear that they will absorb other people’s emotions and attract negative energies and entities when they are out in public places. This does not, however, have to be true. Wouldn’t it be nice if this sensitivity came with a manual?!
Empaths are designed to feel other peoples emotions but not to carry them. If we are carrying others’ emotions past any point of just noticing them, this is a result of our belief systems and imprints, not our perceptive skills. Absorbing emotions is actually something we chose to do, consciously or unconsciously, as a way to clean up our own emotional environments. By sparing someone else the pain of carrying their own feelings we can make them more available to us. If our mother is sad, for example, we may learn at an early age that if we absorb her feelings she will be happier and more present if we absorb her pain. Alternatively, if we are in a room with a very stressed individual or group of individuals, we may absorb the stress just to make the room more inhabitable for ourselves.
Another way we absorb other people’s emotions occurs when we have projected our energy fields too far out into space to maintain solid contact with ourselves. We may unconsciously extend our energy fields out to pick up information about our environments. The further we send our field out into the world beyond its normal boundaries, however, the more pervious it becomes. Why do we expand our fields out so far? Probably because when we were children we had unpredictable emotional environments that we needed more informations on. Expanding our fields out to pick up on Mommy or Daddy’s mood let us know in advance what to expect from them. We might have then absorbed their sadness, grief or anger as a way of making them more emotionally accessible.
Many Sensitives express concern that they will pick up negative energies, or even entities, because they are filled with so much light. In truth, negative energies and entities cannot attach to the high vibration of light, they are, instead, attracted to like energies in their environment. We only pick them up if we have an affinity for them. An affinity is some unresolved aspect of ourselves that draws these dark energies in. They do not just randomly attach to people, they are attracted to the specific emotional states they love to feed off of. We are velcro to them until we do the personal work it requires to no longer live in these emotional states continuously. Let’s say, for example, that you have an old unresolved anger issue. An energy that feasts on anger is going to find you a most attractive host! Once it connects in with you through your anger, it will help direct you into as many situations that will anger you as possible. Some people stop at blaming their negative behavior on an entity. The real problem is the festering anger issue within you that the entity was initially drawn to! Once that is dismantled, you won’t attract that kind of energy, on the energetic, or in the physical.
As a Highly Perceptive Person, or SuperCeptor, you are not a sponge or victim, you are a high powered Maserati designed for precision! We arrive on this planet highly perceptive, like a giant satellite dish, but we come without a manual. When you learn how to tune your machine and maintain it properly, there is nothing to fear. Just step into your light completely, gas it and drive!
